Nagumo Group History

Dr. Yoshinori Nagumo independently founds Nagumo Aesthetic Surgery — the starting point of Japan’s single-specialty breast surgery system.

Medical-corporation accreditation granted; Nagumo Clinic (Nishi-Gotanda, Tokyo) established under the Nagumo-kai Medical Corporation.

Expansion into the Kansai region. Begins simultaneous Tokyo–Osaka operations.

Expansion into Kyushu, coinciding with the Director’s certification as a Japanese Breast Surgery specialist.

Tokyo clinic moves to Osaki; breast-specific diagnostic equipment substantially expanded.

Dr. Soonchan Eom appointed Chief Surgeon (首席医師) of Tokyo Nagumo Clinic — the first Korean physician ever in the role. Establishes the personnel foundation for the future Korea branch.

Dr. Eom earns Korean board certification in plastic surgery; registers as full member of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and as a founding member of the Korean Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Eom opens Umnagumo Plastic Surgery in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, as the Korea branch of Tokyo Nagumo — the group’s first overseas branch.

Korea branch builds out a specialty system for trans-axillary (under-arm) breast surgery — a signature scar-minimizing procedure.

Expansion into the Chubu region. Group expands to four clinics across Japan.

Breast surgery academic paper published under the Umnagumo Plastic Surgery affiliation.

Expansion into Hokkaido.

Tokyo clinic relocates to a dedicated Breast Reconstruction Center building in Sanbancho, Chiyoda-ku — strengthening the integrated mammary surgery, aesthetic surgery, and reconstructive surgery system.

Director Dr. Eom appointed Steering Committee, Korean Society of Plastic Surgery, Breast Plastic Surgery Research Committee.

Listed as author on a KCI-indexed breast plastic surgery academic paper.

Operating five branches: four in Japan (Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka) plus one in Korea (Seoul Umnagumo). Chairman Nagumo of the Tokyo headquarters visits the Korea branch on a recurring basis for consultations and clinical oversight.
